Quartet Cards

This is a deck of quartet cards that explore the qualities and histories of eight different classifications of typography. The individual cards showcase various typefaces and educate the quartet players about their designers and the typefaces themselves. The bright colors were chosen to engender feelings associated with playing card games as a family or with friends, so the experience feels less like a chore and more like good, honest fun.

Type Classifications and You

The history of typographical classification can be daunting for some to learn about, given how many typefaces there are and how far back some of them were designed. Some people find it easier to learn something if they don’t really feel like they’re learning, and card games like Quartets can often be the best way to process subjects as varied and nuanced as type classifications.
