5+8 Freelance Work
Beginning in early August of 2018, I was approached by a mentor of mine, Adam Faust – one of the partners of design agency 5 + 8 – with an offer for some freelance work involving the creation of social media post assets for local businesses. Once created, the files were then handed off to other 5 + 8 staff members through Basecamp, a project content management application, who in turn handed the files off for approval from the clients. Assignments were handed to me through Basecamp, with specific dates for certain image assets along with the occasional size requirements and theme suggestions.

Genghis Grill
Genghis Grill was one of two clients that 5+8 did social media calendars for around 2018–2019. As this was during the height of the whole “companies should have fun social media presences” trend, I was encouraged to make several different kinds of memes interspersed throughout the general advertisements and promotional materials.
Papa John's Houston
The other business that 5+8 did social media calendars for was the Houston branch of Papa John’s. Like Genghis Grill, memes and gifs were encouraged, though not every idea that was put forward got to be featured on their various socials.
